Last Day of Vacation...

This morning Ollie found the remote control to a car that he received for his 1st birthday. He handed it to me and said "car please!". I asked him where the car was and he pointed up to his room. It is usually sitting on a high shelf on his bookcase and he was pointing up there saying "high, high" but when I looked it was not there. Uh oh, so then we looked in the toy box in his room and he found the car!
Thank goodness!!! Daddy fixed it - he put new batteries in it and Ollie got to play with his car! He had such a good time it was like seeing an old friend!

At 9:45 I dropped Ollie off at his babysitters for an hour or so while I met Erin at Mexico Road Florist. This is where I got the flowers for my wedding and I have been telling Erin what a great job they did but she was already talking with another store. Well she finally got fed up with the other place and finally made an appointment with Mexico Road Florist. It was great we were in and out of there in less than an hour and all the flowers have been picked out. I'm glad she finally took my advice because she was starting to get stressed out!! Erin, you should always listen to your big sis! Yeah right!

After I the florist I picked up Ollie and then we went to lunch with Papa - the last time while I am off work :( After lunch Ollie took his usual nap. When he woke up we met Aunt Erin at Spencer Creek park to play for awhile then back home for dinner. Maw Maw stopped by after work and Ollie "cooked" for her in his kitchen.
When Maw Maw left Chris and I took Ollie outside to ride ride on his truck. Chris showed me how they "ride" together.
They both get on their "ride rides" and Ollie follows his daddy around like a little duckling. It was so cute!

Well, tomorrow is my first day with the State of Missouri. I am sad that I will not get to spend as much time with Ollie but I do not have that dread in the pit of my stomach like I would on Sunday evenings when I knew I had to go to work before. So this job is better already!!!

Summer Time Fun!!!

It was a hot one today!!! We started the day by playing outside at 9:00. Ollie rode his "ride ride truck" down the bike trail for a little while then we rode his bike down the bike trail. We were on our way to the big park when Ollie asked for his cup. Well I hadn't brought the cup (bad mommy!), I wasn't expecting to go all the way to the park. I explained that we could go home to drink the cup or get a drink from water fountain at the park. He looked at me and said "Mommy I hot" so home we went. We played inside for the rest of the morning. Then we picked Papa up at work at 11:30 and went to El Maguey. After lunch Ollie took a long nap. When he woke up around 3:30 we played with Ollie's kitchen then tried to run an errand but the bank closed at 4:30, we got there at 4:35 of course! So we went back home and changed into our swimsuits. I took Ollie up to Nob Hill Pool. He is already a girl magnet - as soon as we got in the pool about 4 or 5 little girls swarmed around him to play! Ollie had such a good time he loves playing on the stairs where he can touch then he got brave and went on to the last step and would stoop way down so his head would go under! Then he would come up and say "whew hoo!" He was so proud that he went under water! We played there for at least an hour then I took Ollie to Fritz's for a baby cone! He ate the whole thing! Swimming really makes him hungry - I'm hoping it will really make him tired tonight. The last two nights it has been a struggle to get him to sleep by 11:00. He can really fight sleep when he wants too! Little stinker! I yelled at him last night and he looked at me really calmly and said "why screaming mommy?" Because you won't go to sleep and Mommy's tired!!!!

Sorry there are no pics from today - I just did not take my camera with me - just one of those days!

Girls Day Out...Boys Day In...

Today we had a girls day out. Aunt Barb, Aunt Patti, Laurie, Mom and I all went to a bead shop in Alton to make jewelry. It was so much fun!!
If I go again I think I will have Laurie design a bracelet for me - she has a real talent!!!

I made a mom bracelet. It has Ollie's name on it with pretty beads in between and this cute little boy charm hanging from the clasp.
Here is a close up of my bracelet...I am really happy with the way it turned out!

Meanwhile, Ollie stayed home with Daddy today. This is the first time Chris has had Ollie all to himself for a full day. They played inside a lot and of course they had to go on the ride ride! The only bad thing is that Ollie did not take a nap until 4:00! Yikes!! He is going to be up late tonight!

Funny story...Chris asked Ollie if he was ready to change his poopy diaper and Ollie said yes. Ollie ran upstairs and when Chris got to Ollie's room he was laying on his changing pad and had already taken off his shorts and was waiting for Chris while he held onto a clean diaper! I guess he wanted to make sure that Daddy did not put the poopy one back on him!!

This Weekend!

On Friday evening we went over to play with Katherine and Andrew and Ollie wanted to take his new big wheel with him! Of course the kids always want to play with whatever is not theirs when they are around other kids and their toys!

On Saturday, Ollie, Maw Maw and Mommy went up to the elementary school parking lot for Ollie to ride his scooter and bike on a big flat surface.

This was fun until he saw the big playground. He has never been to this playground before so he had a great time climbing!

Here is a video of Ollie riding his bike at the elementary school. He is getting really good at Pedaling!

Planet Fun!!!

Since this morning was so rainy and dreary again I decided to take Ollie to Planet Fun! There are lots of tunnels and slides for the little ones to go through. I told them Ollie would be 2 next month so he got in for free and so did I...great!! Unfortunately I forgot to bring socks so we had to take quick trip down the street to Big Lots for socks. Oh well! Ollie had a great time, he immediately met a little girl named Erin who is 4 years old. Erin was very excited that Ollie could say her name so well! I had to follow Ollie through the tunnels because about 3 different summer camps showed up and the big kids would just plow through him if I was not behind him and Ollie would get scared. I don't blame him! The kids get a little crazy there! Ollie should be ready for a long nap now! Here are some pics of Ollie at Planet Fun!!!

Carpet Cleaner

This week I decided it was time for our carpets to get a good cleaning. So, I borrowed Dad's carpet cleaner. I did the living room, dining room, hallway and our bedroom and bathroom on Tuesday. Then today I did the stairs and little rugs. Ollie thought he should help with the small rugs! He did such a good job! Thanks for letting us borrow the carpet cleaner Dad & Pati!!
This evening Ollie saw Katherine playing outside in the rain so we went over to say hi. When we got there Becky & Katherine had a present for Ollie! It was a giant dump truck! I don't think that Ollie realized that it was for him until we brought it home. But as soon as we were inside he immediately began pushing it around the house saying "Ollie's big truck!" Then he deicided to sit in the back of the truck - I told you it was a GIANT dump truck! Thanks for the truck Becky & Katherine!!!
Notice how Ollie's eyes are closed - after I took the first pic he was blinking his eyes...I think the flash blinded him for a minute.

Raging Rivers!!!

Yesterday, Erin, Allison, Ollie and I went to Raging Rivers. We all had a blast!! We rode on the lazy river a couple of times and Ollie had a great time playing in Itty Bitty Surf City - they have little waterslides for their Itty Bitty Guests! We also went in the wave pool. Ollie liked the wave pool for a little while but I think it got to be too much for him because he looked at me and said "Bye Bye Pool" I asked if he wanted to go back to the baby pool and he said yes so we went back. Erin and Allison went on the big waterslides and while they were up there Erin asked if Ollie could go down on my lap and they said yes! So we hiked up the big hill and went down the big slides! Ollie loved them he would laugh out loud while we were sliding and a couple of times he yelled "I'm slidin!" We went down them 4 or 5 times! What a blast we really had a great time!

Sorry we only took pics when we left but I did not want to take the chance at breaking my new camera the first week that I had it!

Fun with Mom

Ollie has been very busy with his new "truck"! Yesterday he was out working very hard in the yard. He carried his shovel around with him and would get out every once in a while dig some dirt. Then get back on his ride ride and go some more!

Since it was rainy yesterday afternoon Ollie and I made chocolate chip cookies...Ollie got flour all over him while we were mixing!
He likes to spoon out the cookie dough and eat it off the spoon! He learns fast!

Stroller Class!!!

Well since I am off work we have been going to stroller class on Monday and Wednesday mornings. They have been held at the Mall since it is so hot outside. This morning Erin was watching Maggie and Samantha for her friend Lori so they came to Stroller Class with us.
Here is a pic of all the little ones! They really have a great time and I get a good workout!

Happy 2nd Birthday Ollie!!!

This morning we let Ollie open one present so he would realize that today was his birthday!

He got 5 new hot wheels cars...

Once he got them all out of the package he decided he would put them back in.
Later Ollie's babysitter and her family showed up for Chris to take a look at the air conditioner in their van. They also brought a present for Ollie. He got two hot wheel monster trucks!
He likes to flip with Taylor the oldest daughter.

While Ollie was taking a nap we got all of his presents out and put the Big Wheel together.
Ollie was so excited when he woke up - he immediately went to his presents and wanted to open them. I tried to explain that we needed to wait until everyone got here so they could see what he got.
But Aunt Erin thought it would be ok if he opened her present... She got him a little lime green folding chair.
Then we let him play with his new basketball hoop!

Maw Maw let him unwrap his shovel and rake - only the stems were wrapped but it was still fun to rip the paper off!

Ollie wanted to try out his new Big Wheel - thanks Grandma & Grandpa Toussaint - Ollie will get a lot of use out of this!
Great-Papa, Grandma Pati and Papa waiting for the party to get started!
Finally time for presents!!!

Ollie got a new Handy Manny shirt from Maw Maw and he immediately started taking off his shirt to put the new one on!

A golf club set from Mommy & Daddy!
More shirts from Papa & Grandma Pati!
Again we must change Ollie's shirt!

He got a Cardinals shirt and a....
Wall-E shirt! This one stayed on the rest of the day - thank goodness there was a little yellow in his shorts and he somewhat matched!
Ollie got some Elmo books from John & Paula Thurston - thanks guys!
And a Spongebob ball and bat from Aunt Marcie - Thanks Aunt Marcie!

A SpiderMan Scooter from Mommy & Daddy!

And a Bob the Builder Tool Belt - Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Ames!
Ollie wants to help put his scooter together!
Papa & Maw Maw had one more surprise for Ollie - his very own "ride ride"!!!
We could not get him off of this!

He is not the best at steering though so you have to chase him around the yard!

I don't know how we got him off the ride ride but we finally got him to come in for his Elmo cup cakes!!

We had to wait for the Cardinals game to get over and Ollie decided to sneak some icing off his cupcakes!
Time to sing!!!
Ollie did not want to blow out his candles for Mommy and Ma Maw helped him.

Mommy forgot the party hats, which Cloe and Cassie pointed out to me so we put them on after cupcakes - Ollie did not really want to keep his on though.

Pinata time!! Ollie had a great time swinging at Elmo - I think he hit him twice!
Everyone gets a turn - now it is Cassie's turn...
Ollie lost interest in the pinata when he saw his ride ride and he did not hit the pinata anymore.
Now the big kids join in...Kristina's turn!

Cousin Beth tries to even things out by hitting it on her knees!

Tyler really hits it hard!!
But Chris is the one that really knocked it out!

Thanks for the fun roller Aunt Debbie - the kids really liked it! I'm sure Ollie will have lots of fun in this "hamster wheel"!

Cloe really likes the roller wheel!

Ollie's having a great time with his Handy Manny water color book - Thanks John & Paula and Papa and Grandma Pati (Ollie got two of them but I'm sure he will use all of the pages!)
Thanks for coming to Ollie's party everyone! He really had a great time!!!
