Clean Up!

Today we spent the day cleaning up the backyard. First, we swept the patio and washed it off, then, we cleaned up the old leaves that were in the rocks behind our house.
Later, Chris trimmed the big bush in our backyard and Ollie and I helped clean up the branches that he cut off. Ollie is such a good helper!

This morning Stroller Class was at the Mall because we were supposed to have thunderstorms. So, after class I took Ollie to the play area for staying in his stroller so well! He had a great time playing, we have not been there since it has gotten nice outside.
Later our friend, Gennie, Jay, Little Jay and Baby Chris were down the street visiting their grandparents house and they invited Ollie down to play in the pool. Little Jay only stayed in for a few minutes after we got there but Ollie stayed in for awhile considering how cold the water was!

Gennie and Jay were asked to go out to dinner with Gennie's sister so I offered to watch Little Jay and Chris. After dinner Little Jay wanted to go to the park so I loaded all the boys up and away we went.
Andrea, now I know what it is like to be you...we were quite the show stopper. Two 2 year olds and a 4 month old strapped to me! Yikes, I don't know how you do this everyday! After pushing the double stroller up the huge hill to get home I was thinking, who's bright idea was this?

TGIF!

This evening we all went out to dinner with Maw Maw and Stu. By all I mean, Ollie, Mommy, Kevin & Aunt Erin. We went to Erio's ( a little italian restaurant close to home). Ollie liked eating Kevin's watermelon.
Ollie was also our little comedian. He put his pretend camera strap over his head and the camera and his hair was sticking straight up! This pic is a re-enactment - the original was hilarious and Ollie thought he was pretty funny!
Later we went home and searched for lightning bugs but it was too dark to catch them, we only caught one, maybe we will try again tomorrow night. After that Ollie tried out sparklers for the first time.
He did pretty good but did get scared once. His hand was a little too close to the sparks and Stu made him drop it. Thanks Stu!
Ollie likes to watch the big professional fireworks but he really doesn't seem to like the little ones. Even the ones that just shoot up pretty sparks and do not make noise. I think they are a little too close for him.

Mickey Mouse?

After we got home from Fritz's tonight Chris was in the kitchen messing with some mouse traps and telling me and Ollie to be quiet when we came in. What is going on?? Well Chris saw a giant mouse run across our living room floor to behind our T.V. Well this is a big problem, hopefully he doesn't chew on any of the cords back there! Chris says he is so big because he has been eating some left over chocolate Easter Bunnies that were in the basement. So, this mouse is not very fast because he is so fat! Great! I told Chris to try to get rid of the mouse before Ollie and I got out of the shower - well you know that didn't happen. When we came back downstairs Chris was up looking all around the living room - he said that now the mouse was under the couch. (Meanwhile Ollie is all excited because he thinks Mickey Mouse is in the house.) Ollie and I hung out on the stairs and Chris flipped over the big couch, no mouse; then he flipped over the little couch and there he was - Mickey Mouse! I was screaming and then Ollie started crying and the mouse ran down the stairs so now Chris has to figure out where he went! Poor Ollie couldn't figure out why Mommy was screaming and why this little thing was running around our living room, and where was Mickey Mouse?
Well, Ollie was still sick yesterday and last night so he stayed home with Aunt Erin today - thank goodness for teachers! Of course the one day we finally keep him home from the sitter is the day he starts feeling better. He did not have a fever today and his pooping issue has been taken care of! After I got home from work and Erin got done with her class tonight we took Ollie, Maggie and Samantha up to Fritz's
Everyone had to have a turn pulling the wagon!
Then they all want to ride together - good thing it's a big wagon!
Here are some pics of the kiddos enjoying their ice cream!

Samantha
Maggie
While eating the ice cream Ollie noticed a fire truck parked on the lot so we had to go over and check it out!
The firefighters were nice enough to let the kids play in the truck!

Ollie is trying to buckle this giant seat belt! What a fun night!

Sick Day

Today Ollie's babysitter called at 11:30 and said he had a fever of over 102. Not good! So I picked him up and home we went. Poor little buddy, you could tell he didn't feel well, that is until the Motrin kicked in. Once it kicked in he was running around playing again. Unfortunately his fever came back this evening once the medicine wore off. I think the sitter will take him tomorrow though, I will just give him some Motrin before we leave in the morning. We will see how it goes. The only good thing about him being sick is I got to get out of the "Hell Hole" for the afternoon!

Little Miss Hartford!

Today our niece, Cloe, was in the Little Miss Hartford pageant and she won first place! Congratulations Cloe!! What a cutie!

Longest Day of the Year!

What a day! First of all...see Aunt Erin I do play with my legos!
We waited this morning to get Ollie dressed because we went to take his 2 year old pictures at JC Penney's. Our appointment was at 10:30. I called them at 10:00 just to make sure they were still on schedule - they were - yippee! So I got Ollie dressed and Aunt Erin and I took Ollie to get his pics taken. Of course when we got there they were not on schedule - I should have known. So Ollie was looking at things with Aunt Erin and got his hands on a package of incense or something and Aunt Erin tried to take it away so Ollie went running off with it. Of course, he fell and the package got him right in the throat. I could hear him screaming but just thought that Erin took something away from him. They came back over and I noticed his neck was all scratched up and was bleeding. After I got him calmed down I realized that he had blood on his shirt so off we went to buy a new shirt to get pics taken in. Fabulous! We still had to wait about 15 min after we got back from buying a new shirt - how annoying! Finally it was Ollie's turn - we were there almost 2 hours from start to finish.

Now it was time for lunch so we went to Ruby Tuesdays and Ollie got a mini cheese burger and "fry fries" with dip (ketchup). Ollie thought it would be fun to take the "dip" out of the bowl and smash it into his burger and fry fries. What a mess!
After Ollie's nap, Mommy, Aunt Erin and Maw Maw went to Hobby Lobby to find some paper for Aunt Erin's wedding invitations...all we ended up finding was an Elmo pinata and plates, hats and napkins for Ollie's birthday party! One more month and Ollie will be 2 - Holy Cow!
After Hobby Lobby we stopped in Office Depot and on our way to Target we got sidetracked at Famous Brand Shoes. Ollie wanted to try some shoes on too! Ollie did really well with all of our stops - we only had one melt down in Hobby Lobby and that only lasted about 5 min - thank goodness!
Finally we came home! We were going to take Ollie to the park but he wanted to play in his own yard. He had a great time running to the birch tree in our backyard and bringing Maw Maw some bark that he picked off. Then it started to get dark and the lightning bugs came out! They were so much fun to catch!
As you can see Ollie had a blast!

Here is a video of Ollie catching lightning bugs!

New Babysitter

This was Ollie's first week at his new babysitter and he was a rock star! His new sitter has worked in daycare for 12 years and has 2 kids of her own. They are 12, 10 and 8. The 10 yr old is named Chris and Ollie really likes playing cars with him. Ollie did not cry at all when I dropped him off in the morning (not even the first day) and all Theresa (the sitter) has to do to get him to go down for a nap is pat him on the back (if only it was that easy here!) We will see how he does next week... a 2 1/2 yr old girl and her 9 week old baby brother will be starting. Hopefully he will keep up his good behavior!

More Swimming!

Tonight Mommy, Ollie and Aunt Erin went up to Nob Hill pool for some more swimming! Ollie had a great time jumping into the pool. He even liked going under!

Wuv you Mommy

On Wednesday evening I took Ollie to Laurel Park pool to play. Maw Maw met us there after she got off work. Look how cute Ollie is in his matching swim trunks and hat! Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Toussaint!
Ollie loves to swim. Unfortunately, the pool closed at 7:00 on Wednesday so when it was time to get out Ollie was pretty upset. He kept crying and saying "Ollie swimming, Ollie swimming!" Then he bit my arm pretty hard. Ow buddy, no biting!
Thursday evening, Ollie was "helping" me make the bed. We had to wash the sheets because Ollie's diaper leaked last night - acky! Ollie likes to hide under the blankets!

Then he thinks that jumping on the bed is a good way to help make the bed - silly!
Time for dinner - Daddy made Ollie mac & cheese with hotdogs in it. Ollie did not want the plate that Daddy made for him - he wanted to eat it out of the pan like Daddy does! Good example Chris!
Ollie, Nathan, and Andrew are trying to fix Andrew's basketball hoop!

Later, Ollie went to play at Maw Maw's house while I went grocery shopping! Ollie found his old johnny jump up at Maw Maw's house and had a blast jumping - he looks so big in there!

It was almost 10:00 when Ollie and I finally got home so we went straight upstairs to Ollie's bed. While we were laying there and Ollie was almost asleep I whispered "I Love you Ollie" and he responded "wuv you mommy". Oh that just melts my heart. It makes all the biting, pinching, biting and crying worth it! What a sweet boy!

Tuesday Night

Tonight Ollie wanted to play in the backyard for awhile. He found an old flower pot and decided to dump it on the patio. He is a true boy...he loves to play in the dirt!

Later, Ollie helped Daddy fix the trim on one of the outside windows. A board had fallen down in one of the storms so the shingles and board had to be put back up. Ollie just wanted to climb the ladder.

Here is a video of Ollie riding his bike...he is getting better at pedaling. But, it is much easier to pedal down the driveway than up. Unfortunately, down is towards the street so we have to keep running after him!

Happy Father's Day!!

Another busy day...Ollie's best father's day present was that he slept in until 9:30 this morning! He was tired after yesterday. On our way to Papa's house, we stopped by Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mike's. Daddy helped them fix their air conditioner - Daddy can fix anything! Above is Ollie and his cousin Cloe.
Below is Ollie and Papa on Papa's "ride ride"! Ollie cannot get enough of those lawn mowers!
Now Ollie is helping Papa cook the steaks...stay back it is hot!
Present time! Daddy got some new tongs!
Ollie is helping Papa open his presents!
Grandma Pati's Dad got some chocolate!
Ollie has moved on to Great-Papa - he goes to whoever has presents left to open! Just think buddy just a little over 1 month and it will be your 2nd birthday - lots of presents to open!

Grandma Pati's Great-Niece, Amelia stopped by to say hi. She will be one in July. Ollie liked her but we really have to work on the pushing and pinching! He just doesn't understand that littler people have a hard time staying on their feet when someone pushes them over!
Ollie finally crashed on the way home of course that was at 4:00 - let's hope it will not be another late night!
