5K, Tree & Concert

Saturday we went down to the park to wait for Aunt Erin, Uncle Kevin & Ivy to run by. They ran their first 5K through stroller class! Ivy was not into the race, Erin said she kept wanting to stop to get her binky. But they made it in about 31 minutes!



Afterwards we had some errands to run and when we got home the neighbors across the street were cutting down a huge tree in the backyard. We put down a picnic blanket and watched as it came down.

Ollie was climbing in our tree. He can get up pretty high!

Then he ran in to get his Handy Manny saw to "tend" (pretend) to cut our tree down too.

This is the look you get from Ollie when he "knows" he is right about something! Those eyebrows go all the way up!

Later, Papa & Grandma Pati came over to hang out while Aunt Erin & Ivy waiting to go to a wedding reception. After Erin & Ivy left we went to Stumpy's for some BBQ and then to a concert in the park. There were so many people there and it was a lot of fun. Ollie likes to roll down the hill!

Maw Maw came to the concert too and she brought a Scooby Doo Memory Game. Ollie said "I'm good at this game, not you!"

Ollie is trying to see the 12 year old boy band that played a few songs while Smash Band took a break.

Park Time!

The other night when we got home Bella and Sampson were both milling around our backyard. I was surprised to see Sampson because there was no barking going on. Usually Bella is barking away at him. But I think she only barks when he goes outside the fenceline and she can't get to him. How cute they are doggie friends!



Monday night was a first for me & Ollie. We both rode our own bikes down to the park. Ollie did so well. Thank goodness there were no accidents because I don't know how I would get us all home. I did call my Mom first to make sure she could hear her phone in case I needed some help. After we got to the park Aunt Erin & Ivy showed up to play! Then Maw Maw came too!

& It was a great night for the park. Later on Becky & Kathryn showed up to play too! It was a busy place. Then it was time for us to ride our bikes home. We made it back with no problems.

90th Birthday Party!

Saturday afternoon we went to Papa's house for a 90th Birthday party. Pati's dad, Charles, turned 90 years old! Patti's niece brought over a giant blow up water slide! The kids had fun for hours on that thing. It got a bit crazy and there were arms and legs flying everywhere. There were a few boo boos but everyone had fun.

Samantha & Maggie got to come too! Samantha hurt her ankle pretty bad and had to get x-rays but Lori had said that she had been complaining about it all week and all the rough housing probably made it worse. I hope she is okay!

Megan & Mason showed up and finally there was another boy!

Thursday evening Daddy made spaghetti and everyone came over for dinner. Then Ollie & Ivy hung out for a bit in Ollie's playroom watching Spongebob. Aren't they cute?

Friday evening Ollie, me & Maw Maw went to the Festival of the Little Hills. Listen to this! I took our big stroller with us and we parked at the Family Arena to take the shuttle bus. When the shuttle dropped us off at the Festival I put the stroller up and it was missing both front wheels! Seriously! So back on the shuttle we went and took the stroller back to my car. Then we had to walk through the Festival with Ollie on foot as well. Talk about a good time. But, Ollie found this bow & arrow and just had to have it. Maw Maw showed him how to use it and he has taken it everywhere with him since he got it. Watch out Bella!

We went to McDonald's for breakfast Sat morning to let Ollie play. All the outside parks were wet from the bad storms we had the night before. Ollie met some friends and they all played the video games and climbed and ran through the play area. Good times!

Then we went to the fabric store to pick out some new material for a new blanket, sheet & pillow set for Ollie to take to school. He's had his Lightning McQueen one for almost 2 years. He picked out Spiderman this time. While we waited for our turn to get the fabric cut we checked out the halloween stuff and can you believe it Ollie found a batman mask! This hand scared him so bad the first time he knocked it on the ground!

Soccer Practice

Ollie had his first soccer practice on Wednesday night. He was pretty excited starting out. He went out there and met all of his teammates and listened to the coach for the first 15 or so minutes and he was doing great! After awhile Aunt Erin, Uncle Kevin & Ivy showed up and all of a sudden Ollie didn't want to play soccer anymore. I'm not sure what happened, maybe he just thought we were all hanging out and having fun and he was missing out - not sure but he was very upset and refused to go back out on the field. We will try again this week and I will take him by myself and maybe sit in the car where I can see him but he can't see me. He says he still wants to play so we shall see. There are still a couple of weeks that we can decide if we need to get a refund or not.

Maw Maw's birthday!

Today is Maw Maw's birthday! We started the day by taking Paul's Donuts to Maw Maw's house first thing this morning. Maw Maw had bought a new game at a garage sale yesterday. It is Spongebob Ants in his pants! You have to flick the ants into Spongebob's pants and hope they make it in. The first one dones wins. We played while we ate donuts. There were ants flying everywhere! Ivy was laying on a blanket on the floor playing with her frog when Ollie decided she needed a cave which he made with pillows. After awhile Ivy wanted out and Ollie got in to see what the cave was like.




Time for Maw Maw to open her cards. The one from Ollie & Ivy sang the "Celebrate" song. Ollie thought this was very cool.

Here we are playing the Ants in the Pants game again.

What a healthy day...for lunch we went to McDonald's for lunch so Ollie could climb, jump & play! We will probably go out for birthday dinner and have Fritz's for dessert! Happy Birthday Maw Maw!!!

Harry Potter in the Park

Friday night they were playing Harry Potter in the park. This was the first time Ollie saw Harry Potter. He was very worried about Harry's mommy & daddy and why the bad man killed them and when they were going to come back. After about an hour into the movie he was ready to go home. But I think he does like the Harry Potter movies.

Ollie asked for $2 to get a box of popcorn and then he came back and said he needed one more $. He came back with sour skittles & a box of popcorn! He was so excited that he bought them all by himself!

Saturday we went to see Shrek Forever After at the dollar show and when we came home mommy took Bella to get a bath and Ollie & Maw Maw watched the rest of the Harry Potter movie. Later Papa & Grandma Pati came over and we went to eat dinner and then mommy & Grandma Pati went to Costco for a party they are having next weekend but they closed at 6 on a Saturday night! Crazy! Oh well at least we got to spend some time with them.

Jurassic Dark

Wednesday evening I went to the dollar show with Erin, Mom & Paula to see Sex in the City 2. Ollie and Daddy stayed home and watched Spongebob and played DS. I'm sure this is where they were all evening long.

Thursday evening John & Paula got us free tickets to the Dinoquest at the Botannical Gardens. They called it Jurassic Dark. There was free face/arm painting and balloon animals. Ollie wanted a t-rex painted on his arm. I was surprised when he asked and knew what a t-rex was.

Time to look for dinosaurs! First we saw baby dinosaur eggs!

Then there was a room with fun stuff for the kids to do. Ollie put on some dinosaur costumes.
