Another Day with Ivy

So Ollie did sleep all night but woke up at 6:45 this morning. Ivy did pretty well too. She slept from 10 - 4:30am, I fed her and she laid her back down at 5am and she slept until after we woke up. All in all a good night. Just looks at those legs!

Ollie & Ivy hanging out in the playroom watching cartoons.

Later in the morning we took a walk down to the park with Becky & Kathryn. They shared a water fountain. It was pretty cute.

Andrew & Kathryn love Ivy. Becky told me later this evening that Kathryn has renamed her babydoll to Ivy.

We went in at lunch time and stayed in the rest of the day. It was just so dang hot outside. Not good weather for a 2 month old. Ivy went home at 4pm and I bet she was glad to get home. Anytime she would fall asleep her during the day someone (not naming names!) would make some kind of loud noise and wake her up. I bet she was tired!

Ivy spends the day with us!

This morning Aunt Erin & Uncle Kevin dropped Ivy off at 6:40am. They were headed to a Cardinals game in KC. Ivy will spend the day and night with us. Ollie wanted to hold Ivy before we headed out to Papa's house.

It was very hot today so Ollie tried out his new spiderman sprinkler head.

Then he would take a break in the sun to warm up because the hose water was cold.

Megan & Mason came over a bit later and then they all had a good time in the water.

Mason & Ollie in Papa's tree.

We spent the whole day at Papa's and then we all went out for Mexican. The kids started out sitting next to each other but by the time the food got there Ollie and Grandma Pati had switched places. Probably the best idea.

Here's how Ivy spent her time at the restaurant.
After the long ride home the kids were zonked out. I think Ollie might even be down for the night. Ivy is still sleeping. I hope she sleeps through the night like she has the past 3 nights.

Movie in the Park

Tonight Ollie and I went to see Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory in the park. Aunt Erin even came for about 45 min. She was guilted into it. Earlier in the evening when I told Ollie what we were going to do and told him it would just be Mommy & Ollie and wouldn't that be fun he said "it would be more fun if Aunt Erin would come". Wow! Doesn't that make me feel great. Oh well, we still had a good time. Ollie was a bit restless for the first part and I didn't think we were going to make it but right before Aunt Erin left he started to get into it. He wanted to watch the whole thing and he was singing the Umpa Lumpa the whole way home except when he sings it it sounds more like lumpa lumpa.

Father's Day!

What a great Father's Day! We went to Papa Cherry's for lunch and he had put a slip n slide up for Ollie to play on. Ollie went down the slide 3 times and then he was done. Oh well it was fun while it lasted!

Ollie had a plateful and ate most of it! I can't believe it, he is turning into a little eater!

Ollie helped Papa open his presents. The first was from him. A little baseball with his Cardinals picture on it!

Then Ollie was excited to show Daddy his Spongebob card.

Papa also got a Cardinal T-shirt and a self-centering tape measure.

Ollie is letting Ivy read the spongebob card.

Then we headed over to Papa Toussaint's house for dinner. Ollie brought Papa his presents.

Papa Toussaint made out pretty well too. He got a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant, lots of new shirts and a sander!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!

Olde Tyme Picnic

Saturday morning we kicked off the day by going to the Olde Tyme Picnic parade. Aunt Erin fixed our shirts for us. One of Ollie's tacks came off so his shirt kept falling forward. They don't make shirts for kids so she cut out the picture and then tacked it on to another of his white shirts. I fixed it for him later when we got home so it was fine for the picnic at night.

Ollie & Ivy in their picnic shirts. Aunt Erin is getting very crafty. She cut up a shirt and puff painted it onto a onesie for Ivy. Very cute!

All the kiddos from the street were there and we all sat together. Here's Kathryn & Ollie!

Ollie, Kathryn, Chris & Jay

Then Lori, Maggie & Samantha showed up too!

How cool is this float? Those are real people making the statue. Can you imagine how hot and sore they were after the parade?

Then Mickey Mouse walked by and the kids were going crazy yelling for him to look at them!

A couple floats handed out popcicles instead of candy. Next year I will have to remember to bring some scissors to get the suckers open. By the time we got them open they were pretty much melted but at least they were still cold.

Not sure what they are discussing but it looks serious!

After the parade we went up to Jay & Chris' house to check out their brand new baby sister, Madeline. She was born on Tuesday. She has so much hair and it is thick! Ollie got a chance to hold her for a few minutes. Then it was back to playing with the boys.

Cousins - what a cute pic!

After dinner we went back down to the picnic and Ollie rode lots of rides. It was very muddy and the lines were long. Ollie & I still had some tickets left when the fireworks were over so we stayed a little longer than everyone else before leaving. Good thing was Aunt Erin was still in line for the shuttle bus and let us stand with her. I'm sure the people behind her were mad but oh well, we were all ready to go home!
