This weekend so far...

On Thursday I took a half day to spend sometime with family from Texas. They came in a few days early for the wedding. We had a big BBQ at Dad's new house. Ollie was fighting with Papa with the BBQ tongs.

Friday was crazy busy. Ollie and I went to breakfast and then I took him to school. Then I met up with Erin and we stopped by the florist, cake place and the reception site. Then it was off to Jade nails for some mani/pedi's. Then we went back to the reception site to decorate! You'll have to check out Erin's blog later for those pics. When I got a break I went to the St. Charles Pet Adoption Center to check out a dog we have been looking at for awhile and she was still there! So I came home with Bella! Ollie was so excited!

Bella is a labrador retriever and they think she is mixed with a german shepherd. So far she is a good dog. She is pretty much housebroken!

Not much time to play because we have a rehearsal dinner to get to! Here they are! The bride, groom, ring bearer and flower girl!

Ollie and Maggie are practicing walking down the aisle! We'll see if they actually do it today or not!

Happy Birthday Kevin!!!

Today is "Uncle" Kevin's birthday!! We all went out to eat at Joe's Crab Shack to celebrate. Ollie ate his first mussel!

He used the paper towel to wipe off his tongue!

But then he ate another one!

Ollie knows who to sit with to get first dibs on the cookie cake!

Of course they have to embarrass the birthday boy at Joe's Crab shack. He had to do the hula while everyone sang to him.

He got some cool presents. Two new shirts, a stuffed squirrel (inside joke about their pool!) and a Cardinals Jersey that says "Thurston" on the back. It is a real jersey and Paula had to look around to find one. They think he will be traded next season!

A little less than 96 hours and Kevin will truly be "Uncle Kevin" to Ollie and we can't wait!!!

Memorial Day Pool Party

We went to my Aunt Barb's for the Memorial Day pool party! Maw Maw had the bright idea to bring a spiderman water gun for Ollie. He was "powing" everyone!

Uh oh! Uncle Larry has a hold of him and they have cooked up a plan to get Papa Stu all wet!

He did not bring his suit, but Ollie got him so wet he just got in anyway!

I can't believe what a difference a year makes. He was able to get around just fine all by himself with the water wings on! Last year he still just went right under because he didn't understand how to hold his head above water. He will be swimming on his own in no time!

Rain rain go away! Mom is trying not to get her hair wet! Too late she has already been in the pool! Crazy!

We stayed until dark so that we could finish up the fireworks that Erin got for Mom for Mother's day. This time we did not have to hide from the cops! It was a long day but a fun one!

Creek Walking

Saturday morning we went creek walking in the creek behind Maw Maw's house. Ollie threw his boat in the water to see how far it would go.

He's trying to get his boat back. Finally he asked Papa Stu to get it for him. His arms are longer!

Concert in the Park

Tuesday night we went to the Concert in the Park. There was a band playing classic rock. We brought an icecream for Ollie which he ate right away!

Then he ran around alot! He carried his chair around for awhile then just ran in circles like a crazy person!

Ollie stole the schedule of the Gazebo . There are alot of weddings planned for this month! Aunt Erin helped him put it back.

Ollie really liked this little girl and he pulled his chair out and set it up right next to her all by himself. She thought he was funny and was kind of embarrassed. But he just sat there next to her anyway! Too cute!

Batman Surprise!

This morning when I got to work there was a big red basket on my desk filled with Batman toys! Linda, my co-worker, found a bunch of Batman stuff for Ollie!

Later, my mom brought Ollie up to my office to get his surprise. He had the cutest smile on his face when he saw the basket. He carefully looked through it and I think he thought he could only pick one toy. He said I want to take this one home.

Of course he had to try on the costume!

He gave Linda a big hug! Thanks so much Linda, you're the best co-worker ever!!

Sunday

We got up and left the house around 9:15 this morning to help Papa move some stuff into his new house. Ollie was a big helper.

He got to take the tape off all by himself!

After we dropped off Tyler we stopped by Grandma Toussaint's to say hi. Ollie liked playing with the kitty cat and doggies.

Let's go fly a kite!!!

There was a kite festival today at Woodlands Park. They were giving away free kites but Aunt Erin brought a new Buzz Lightyear kite for Ollie! It was a little cold because it was so windy so Ollie wore Maw Maw's sweatshirt for a little while. But since he had to run so much to try and get his kite to fly he got hot and gave it back to her.

It was a little frusterating at first but Maw Maw worked on his kite until it finally flew like a champ. She put new tails on it and then tied the bottom of the kite together so it would catch better. She's so smart!

Ollie got a little bored with the kite flying and played on the bleachers for a little while.

Swine Flu

No, don't worry we do not have the swine flu! Not yet anyway! Mom thinks I am paranoid about Ollie getting the swine flu because I was a little nervous when they first started talking about it. It was all over the news and then I got an email at work specifically about the swine flu and what we should do if we get it...it was sent to everyone. Anyways, Stu must think I am paranoid too because he sent me a mask to protect us from the Swine Flu. Thanks Stu! Don't worry I am not paranoid enough to make Ollie wear the mask everywhere he goes...I had a hard enough time trying to get him to keep it on while I took the picture! By the way, there was a note at Ollie's daycare the other day that there have been 2 cases of Swine Flu in the Ft. Zumwalt School district in St. Peters but it sounds like they were both in high schools. Stay healthy everyone and remember to wash your hands often!

The Zoo!

On Monday, my mom and I decided to take Ollie to the zoo. It was a perfect day.

Ollie was not sure about this snake but finally gave him a hug once he figured out it was not real.

Finally we get to the elephants!

Ollie liked riding the train. He kept looking at me with this big smiling face! What a cutie!

Giraffes! When I asked him in the morning what he wanted to see at the zoo his first response was the giraffes! Although his favorite animal by far was the penguin!

There was a peacock just walking around with the people. Ollie wanted to touch it but was not quite sure.

Wiped out...nice hair buddy!
