Oktoberfest!

This afternoon we went to the Oktoberfest in St. Charles. They had lots of rides for little kids! Ollie got to drive a fire truck!
And a blue car!
They had a bounce house and we didn't have to wait an hour for him to get in!

And a ginormous slide! We went so fast, I was a little scared, but Ollie liked it so much we had to go 3 times!!

Arthur's Picnic in the Park

This morning I watched little Jay and baby Chris for my friend Gennie. They are moving in up the street and needed time to get things unpacked. Ollie decided that he was hungry so we went inside opened the refrigerator and grabbed two pieces of left over pizza and brought them outside and started chowing down. It was hilarious.
It took little Jay a little while but he finally warmed up to my mom and Ollie. They are stomping on shadows in this pic! Thank goodness Maw Maw came over. She really knows how to entertain two year old boys!
After little Jay and Chris left we headed to Forest Park for Arthur's Picnic in the Park. It was advertised as a free family festival where the kids could meet Clifford, Super Why, Curious George & Bert & Ernie! I expected the characters to just be wandering around. Wrong! They were each in their own tents and each tent had an hour long line! Yikes! We decided to get in the line for Bert & Ernie and then we were going to head out. Maw Maw got Ollie a "cold one"! He really liked it and got it all over himself but at least he stayed cool! We stood in this line for an hour and a half. But to our surprise...Bert & Ernie were not there, but guess who was...
ELMO!! Holy cow, Ollie got to see Elmo!
Ollie got 2 hugs from Elmo and a high five! He was so excited.
After Elmo Ollie still wanted to go in the train! They had big bounce houses and one was a Thomas the Train house. Of course these lines were just as long. Thank goodness we got in line when we did because we were second to last before they closed the line for the day. Look at this line!
Maw Maw took Ollie around to play while I stood in the Thomas line. Ollie is sitting in the window of the Noah's Ark bounce house watching the other kids play.

Finally it was Ollie's turn! In the Thomas house he climbed up a ladder and then slid down the slide. Then he jumped with the kids on the other side.

He had a great time jumping but in the last minute that he was allowed to jump him and a little girl collided heads so it was not a happy time when he had to get out. Poor buddy! After the picnic we went to El Maguey and then to Fritz! It was a pretty busy and fun day!

Mommy's Home!!!

Well I made it through my first week away from Ollie! I did a lot better than I thought but there were a few moments in the evenings when I was talking to him on the phone that I wanted to cry. One night he said "hi mommy out of town?" yes I am still out of town but I will be home tomorrow! "friday?" Yes tomorrow is Friday! I can't believe he is big enough that we can have conversations on the phone, time flies! Below are some pics that MawMaw took of Ollie eating Kettle Corn at her house one night.

Bye Bye Mommy :(

Well tonight's the night. I have to leave for Jeff City no later than 9:00 and I will not be home until Friday evening. I have been trying to explain to Ollie that Mommy has to go bye bye for work like Daddy does and I will not be home until Friday. He told me he wants to go too - breaks my heart! But I explained that it would not be any fun I had to go for training to learn for work. Now he thinks that I am going to ride on a train and have a great time without him. Silly buddy...doesn' t he know that mommy never has fun without him!
Ollie is blowing me kisses bye bye!

I can't wait to be home already!

Park time!!

This morning Ollie and I rode my bike to City Centre Park. Maw Maw and Stu met us up there for a little while! Instead of playing Ollie thought he needed to clean the dirt off the poles. Stu helped so he could get back to playing!
Don't take my picture again mommy!
I can't help it...look at my little climber!
This is an awfully big slide!

But it is so much fun!!

Monster Shoes!!!

Okay, there is a commercial for Monster Shoes on t.v. They are Elmo, Cookie Monster or Oscar the Grouch shoes. So Ollie was very excited about getting some Elmo Monster Shoes, but, when we got to the store to see them they were so ugly. Bright white and red! Ollie has big feet already so there was no way I was buying him shoes that would make his feet stick out even more! So we bought some nice navy blue stride rights that light up instead and I told him they were monster shoes! He does not really know the difference and he likes that they light up. He has had these shoes for about 2 weeks now and I am not sure what brought this little episode on but it was hilarious! Sorry you cannot hear it all because Maw Maw was laughing so loud! You really did have to be here because it was so funny. He balls his little fists up and bends down a little and yells Monster Shoes! in his scary voice. He did this over and over again but when I got the camera out he got a little camera shy. Hope you enjoy this little video.

Taking Mommy's Trash!!

Friday is trash day and Ollie loves to watch the trash truck take the trash away.
This morning Papa came over and he knows the trash man so he took Ollie out to meet him. Ollie thought this was so cool! See the video below of Ollie after the trash truck left.
Tonight I pulled out Ollie's car garage. He took out all of his cars and had a great time playing with his cars and garage!

Lots of babysitters!!!

Last night I had a Pampered Chef party to go to so Aunt Erin came over to watch Ollie for awhile until Maw Maw could get there. Aunt Erin took Ollie to a parade at her school.
Ollie got lots of candy...he filled up his backpack!

I got home at 8:45 and Ollie was laying on the couch with Maw Maw. He was not tired at all! He was telling me all about the parade and all the candy he got! I'm sure he ate alot of it too!
Today, Chris had another meeting from 3-6 and the babysitter had a "conference" to go to at 5:00 so Aunt Erin was going to pick Ollie up again. Well at 3:30 she called me at work and said that she forgot she had a meeting at 4:00 but not to worry she called her friend Bethany and she would watch him until I got home. I felt so bad that Bethany had to come watch Ollie but I could not leave. Thankfully, Chris ended up getting home at 5:30 so she only had to watch him for 2 hours. Thank you so much Bethany!!!
So Ollie has had lots of babysitters this week. Hopefully next week will be better but I don't think so. I will be leaving for Jeff City on Sunday night and not be home until 7 on Friday night. Yikes! And to top it all off Chris' boss will be in town so he will have to go in early most days. Maw maw and Papa might have to help him take Ollie to the sitter in the morning. I will have to enlist their help over the weekend. Thankfully next week is the last week he will be with his current sitter. My friend, Ginny, is moving in up the street and she will watch Ollie until Feb when we can put him into Discovery Kids! Thank goodness we have such great friends!!

Hammer Daddy's house!

Ollie must have seen daddy fix some of the shingles last weekend because he thought he needed to hammer on daddy's house tonight.

He got real brave and wanted to get way up high!

Rainy Sunday

This morning my friend Becky and I took Ollie and Katherine up to the mall to go for a walk and then to play in the play area. We thought it would wear them out but it just made them more hyper. They were being little stinkers to each other and the other kids so we only stayed about 45 min.
After the mall, it was time for lunch and a nap. After that we went outside and helped daddy clean out the cars. They both needed to be vacuumed. Then we played in Katherine's driveway until dinner time. We had a pretty fun day despite the rain!

Saturday!

This morning we woke up and went to some garage sales. Ollie did really well so we went to McDonald's for lunch. We went to the one with the BIG play area inside. After we ate Ollie got to play!
Ollie played for at least an hour. He had such a good time and guess what?? Maggie and Samantha showed up too! How fun!
After Ollie's nap, he helped Daddy cut the grass! Notice the lawn mower bags in the trunk of his truck - he really thinks he is something with those bags on his truck!
When they were finished cutting the grass they just drove their lawn mowers together. They looked like they were practicing to be shriners! Around and around they went!

Baby Grass!

Look at our grass!!! It has only been 2 weeks since Chris planted it and it is already more green than brown. Yippee!! No more ugly blue tarp!
Ollie has to load up his truck to take it to the sandbox park across the bike trail. Then when he gets over there and starts playing he has to run back home at least 2 or 3 times to bring more toys over. Then when it is time to go home we put everything back in his truck and I have to carry his lawn mower and scooter back home. Silly! He can't possibly just play with his sand toys at the park!

What a week!

There has not been a lot of time for me to take pictures and post a blog so I will just tell you what has been going on. Chris left on Monday morning for meetings in WI and will not be back until tomorrow evening. So early Monday morning we woke up threw on some clothes and hopped in the car to take Daddy to the airport. Ollie had a break down because he wanted to go on the airplane too! Poor buddy! So that started our day off bad and he was a pain the rest of the morning. He did not want to get back in his seat to go to the sitter's then he didn't want to get out of his seat when we got there. Of course not! Tuesday was not so bad; Aunt Erin picked Ollie up after work unexpectedly and then we all went out to eat. Dad stayed after work to fix Erin's yard so we went out for Mexican then to Fritz' because Ollie wanted a baby cone - you know he always gets what he wants!
Wednesday, the sitter called me at 11:15 and told me that she just didn't think it was going to work out. Great, now we have to find another babysitter by the first of Oct! Bad timing, I will be out of town for work the 22-26 then again the 6-10 so I need to find somewhere for him to start the week of the 29th so that I am home when he makes the change. Poor buddy, why doesn't anyone like watching you but me?? You can be so sweet but you definitely have your terrible two's moments too!
Today was pretty uneventful, thank goodness! I did go check out a daycare during my lunch hour that looks promising and I spoke to a friend who will be moving up the street this month. We will see. Whatever happens should be for the best and hopefully I will not have to look for another sitter anytime soon!

Happy 87th Birthday Great-Papa!!!

The 4th was my grandpa's 87th birthday so we all went over to celebrate today.
Ollie helped him open his presents! He got a lot of candy!! What else could you need at 87?

He also got a new hat!
Then Ollie helped Papa dethatch the yard.

Ollie's so tired but he always wakes up when Papa turns the mower off!
