Soccer & Basketball

This afternoon after Ollie's nap, Aunt Erin came over and we all went outside to play soccer! Ollie is really good at kicking the ball. He kicked it so far it went back into our yard and Bella got a hold of it. Thank goodness she didn't put a hole in it!

I think Ollie thinks he is a goalie. He likes to make the goal and then throw the ball back to you.
Then we played basketball in the living room. It was cold outside and was starting to get dark.

Good job buddy - you made it!!!

Dinosaurs Unearthed

After the swimming fiasco, we picked up a pizza from Little Caesars and met Aunt Erin and Allison at our house for lunch. Then we went to the Science Center to check out the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit. Ollie was a little nervous about going to see the dinosaurs he said "do they have mouths?" yes. "do they eat?" I don't know do you think they eat little boys? Nooooo "do they eat mommies" no. I told him that I wouldn't take him anywhere dangerous.

He was fine once we got there and after we saw the big dinosaur when you first go in. He tensed up a bit but then had a good time. He worked on some wood puzzles until it was our turn to go see the exhibit.

Ollie and Allison pose for a pic in front of a big dinsosaur!

Ollie liked looking at the dinosaur eggs. How do such big creatures come from such a small egg?

Ollie and Allison used the brushes to look for dinosaur bones.

They also got to play a laser harp.

Ollie is checking out all the cars on the highway. They go really fast!

Be careful guys, don't fall in that hole! Ollie was kind of nervous about standing on the glass window with the highway below. At one point he put 4 books on the glass and walked across the books. Somehow he thought that was safer than just walking on the glass.

No more swim class

This morning we got up and went to swim class like usual. I took Aunt Erin's advice and sat farther away. I kept my eye on him and they ended up sitting on the stairs for awhile again. Then about 15 min into the class Ollie is upset and coming up the beach area towards me. I tried to tell him to go back to his class but that made him more upset. When he got to me he he said "her told me to get out, get out and no get back in either!" I said who told you to get out, "the teacher". Well this can't be so I picked him up and walked back over to their class with Ollie saying "don't tell her what I said mommy, don't tell her". So I asked her, if she told him to get out and don't come back and she said yes, he was splashing and hitting and he wouldn't listen and he has done that in all the classes. So I went to talk to the director but he wasn't there and the head lifeguard talked to his teacher. She explained that they have the right to sit them out for a few minutes but not kick him out of the whole class, which I completely get. He should have gotten a time out for splashing and hitting. As far as him doing this in all the classes, first of all I never saw him hit anyone, second when 3 year olds get in the water they splash and third if he really was this bad in all the classes why didn't she pull me aside after one of the earlier classes? Yes, he needs to listen and NO my child is not perfect but a simple time out would have done. I asked Ollie if he wanted to go back to the class and he said "her told me to get out and not get back in either!" So that is the end of swimming class. I went to the registration desk and got a refund for the last 3 classes (including today's class) and I am going to talk to the director when I calm down so he takes me seriously and doesn't think I am some crazy momma bear!

Thursday night

Tonight Ollie spent a lot of time in his playroom. He was being very good and quiet and I actually had time to watch some shows uninterrupted (for the most part). I went up to check on him and he was building something with his legos in the only clear spot in his playroom, right in front of the door. He is getting so good at playing by himself!

Happy Birthday Aunt Erin!

Today is Aunt Erin's 27th birthday! Last night Ollie and I went out and picked out a cake for her and wrapped her present. He was so excited, he couldn't wait to give her the cookie cake he picked out! We all met at the Olive Garden for dinner. Ollie was so excited about the cookie cake. That's all he really wanted to eat. He knew he had to order dinner and decided he wanted chicken. Well his chicken strips came with fries and he said "I didn't ask for fries!" he didn't want to have to eat any more than he had to before he got to the cookie!

We all had a nice time. Good conversation and a three year old running laps around our table. What more could you ask for? Next year there will be two kids running/crawling on the floor!

Swim Class

Ollie had swim class again this morning and he did much better. Papa came over to watch. Each of the kids had to go out and get their specific color ring once the instructors put them all the way under water and he picked up the blue one right away. Then each child had a turn picking up all the rings. They were put in the deeper and deeper water. Ollie picked the deeper ones up with his feet and then handed them to the teacher. He's no dummy! Kathryn is like a little fish, she was diving right under the water to find all those rings - she did very well!

After swim class we went to eat at Cecil's with Papa. Ollie was very hungry and we were waiting on him to get done before we could leave. We never have to wait on Ollie. He is usually the first one done!

After lunch, Mommy and Ollie went to the mall to find a birthday present for Aunt Erin. We went into Motherhood Maternity to pick out some clothes for her. While I was looking at some things Ollie put his feet on the ground while in his stroller and pushed himself back right into a clothes rack and knocked the whole thing over! While we were helping pick up the clothes I heard a familiar voice and Aunt Erin & Uncle Kevin were in the store, seriously! I had to tell her not to look at anything I had because it was for her birthday. So much for a surprise!

Before swim class Ollie insisted on buckling himself in his carseat. Here is a video of him trying. He can do it but it is very hard with his coat on. Finally, he reluctantly let me help him.

Superhero Skeleton and Batdog?

Well, I think we are all finally better after that crazy stomach bug that went around the whole Toussaint Family and I do mean WHOLE family. We all caught it last weekend when we were celebrating the January birthdays - yikes! Anyways, tonight after Ollie got his jammies on he found his blue cape that Maw Maw made in the bathroom. So he wanted to be a superhero skeleton and then he found his black cape and asked me to put it on Bella so she could be batdog! Poor Bella, good thing she is a good sport!

Bella's footprints

Tonight Ollie helped me mop up Bella's footprints. There were lots of them since it is so wet and muddy outside. What a good helper! I told Ollie he was being a good helper and he said "you're sweet mommy".

Holiday Monday

What a bummer! A 3 day weekend and as soon as we wake up this morning, Ollie throws up! He hasn't gotten sick again since this morning but he has only had one piece of toast and lots of Sprite. At least he kept it down. No fever at all so as long as he does not get sick again he should be able to go to daycare tomorrow.

January Birthdays

On Saturday, we spent the day in Illinois. We rode with Aunt Erin to go see Papa and Grandma Pati. We had lunch and hung out at their house all afternoon. Ollie even got a little nap in! Then Aunt Erin dropped us off and Papa Toussaint's house and we all went to Aunt Teresa's for the January birthdays. Daddy came later after he got off work. Uncle Brad got Ollie all wound up with the help of Aunt Teresa & Aunt Debbie. Aunt Debbie went in and picked Ollie up and hung him upside down and right on cue Ollie says "you want a piece of me!" Everyone busted out laughing!

Then Ollie started wrestling with his cousins. Poor Beth, she's getting attacked by Ollie, Cloe & Cassie!
Ollie and Cloe were both laying on Maw Maw Toussaint but both rolled off by the time I got the picture taken.

Happy Birthday Krista, Les, Tyler, Mike & Rose!

From left to right: Rose, Lester, Tyler, Mike & Krista is in front. It was actually Krista's 18th birthday!

Time for cake! Ollie had two helpings of ice cream but didn't touch the cake. I don't think he is into cake I think he just likes the idea of cake!

Tyler got a new Xbox game from his Grandma & Grandpa. I can't believe he is going to be 15!

Poor Krista had to sit in the hall to open her gifts.

Ollie, Cassie & Cloe cracking nuts

This kept them busy for quite a while.

Ollie is playing nice and quiet with his Batcave. I can't believe how well he plays by himself with this stuff!

Ollie is eating "Daddy cereal" on the fireplace.

I was so surprised that he didn't spill any of it. Good job buddy!

Ollie's got work to do!

Swim Class

Ollie is taking swim class again this year on Saturday mornings. This year I do not have to get in the water with him. Here are some pics of his class this morning.

Here is Katherine, she is in his class too.

So, let me tell you how this morning went. First, we got up and Chris had let Bella out and put her in the basement so Ollie and I could sleep in, otherwise she would whine right by my head until I woke up. So, we get up and let her upstairs only to find that she had pooped in the basement. So first thing I had to clean up dog poop. Then, it was time to go to the Dr. so Ollie could get his second H1N1 shot. He was not happy about this and of course cried that he did not want to have any holes poked in him. Good thing was that it went very fast and we were out of there in plenty of time to make it to swim class early. Of course, there was a 13 school swim meet going on so there was no place to park, we had to follow some guys that were leaving and get their spot in the very back. Ollie had a good time in class but then it was time to go and we got him dressed and decided to take the elevator upstairs to leave. We ride the elevator up and when the door opens he throws a fit and stays in the back corner crying that he did not want to take the elevator he wanted to take the stairs. So, since I could not get out without him, down we go. While walking up the stairs he says he wants to eat there but we can't because we have to go pick up Maw Maw. So I drag him out of the Rec-Plex and across the first lane and he takes off running back across the lane and into the Rec-Plex screaming and crying that he does not want to leave, he wants to eat there. I am fuming now! I go back in with my giant purse and swim bag and pick him up in all of his winter gear and carry him back out the door and down the hill. When we get into the parking lot I put him down and hold his hand. A van is following up because there is still no place to park and he keeps throwing himself to the ground in the black slush. The van keeps following us. We get to the car and I have to let go of his hand to get my keys and he takes off running through the parked cars, I catch up to him before he gets out into the lane and put him in the car still crying. Don't worry that van got our spot and they deserved it after they waited through all of this nonsense. We went to pick up Maw Maw and decided to get a pizza for lunch and take it back to our house. Well Maw Maw cannot find her debit card so after I get back to the car with the pizza we have to go back to her house. She is freaking out looking through her purse frantically, meanwhile, Ollie spilled all of his pizza cookies and is now upset because he can't find his cookies! Once we got back to her house I found the card in her coat pocket and then we went back to our house because Ollie refused to get out of the car to eat there, he wanted to go home. Anyway, we finally made it home to eat and hang out for about 45 min and then we had to leave again to take Maw Maw to the airport. By the time we got back Ollie was sound asleep and is still sleeping, I need to go wake him up so he will sleep tonight. What a morning! Seriously!

Happy New Year!!!

We had few people over for New Years. Us, Aunt Erin, Uncle Kevin, John, Paula, Maw Maw, Papa Stu & Duke. Aunt Erin brought over fun plastic glasses for us to toast to at midnight. Although, Ollie could not wait he got some Sprite in his cup before everyone got there. He said "I'm getting this party started cuz I'm drinkin!" Where does he come up with this stuff - Aunt Erin?

Maw Maw helped Ollie make his own confetti poppers. Made out of toilet paper rolls, pretty paper, wrapping paper, ribbon and TAPE!

We played Apples to Apples and that helped the time go by. Before we knew it, it was 11:00. One hour to go.

Ollie was still up playing with his Scooby Doo Mystery Machine. He made sure Maw Maw knew that only Freddy drives!

It's getting closer to midnight - time to get ready. Ollie has his little gun popper and some light sticks. Now we have to get our coats on because it was very cold!

Silly string, poppers & noise makers - what could be more fun? Daddy was trying to light off bottle rockets but only 1 or 2 worked.

Maw Maw is breaking one of Ollie confetti poppers over his head just as he is shooting his little gun popper.

Back inside - it is too cold to be outside, but Ollie still wants to try out the silly string. I can't wait to get Ivy some silly string to play with at her house!

What a mess! But, it was lots of fun! Happy New Year everyone!!! 2010 is going to be a great year!
