Monday

Monday was a long day...we started off at a new Dr's office for a well visit. Ollie was nervous because he had to be stripped down to his underwear and he didn't want the dr to touch him. He was jumping and climbing all over the place. Poor little guy had to get 3 shots and he cried more than he has ever cried when he had previously gotten shots. When the nurse walked out of the room he looked at me still crying and said "her poke a hole in me". Oh my gosh, I felt so bad but when he said that I was trying not to laugh. When we left there we went to the library to pick out a new book, that seemed to cheer him up a bit. Then we went home to say bye bye to Daddy. Then off to get our hair cut. We both got it cut at the same time. It was very fast - perfect. Then we went shoe shopping and Ollie picked out some "Slimers" from Stride Rite. They look like they have lime green slime on them and they glow in the dark. Very cool. Then off to McDonald's for lunch and to play in the play place. Ollie was asleep by the time we pulled back into garage.
After nap, Ollie & I took Bella for a walk to the park. She did a good job and did not bark as much. She listened when I told her to sit down when there was another dog around...maybe we are making progress.

Ollie climbed the rock wall that goes straight up all by himself! And he loved the pole. He is very good at it now and does not need any help. There is a video below of him sliding down the pole. He had to stop and think about it for a second when he realized he was going to be on camera.

Shelby & Eric's Wedding

On Sunday evening Chris and I headed to the Jewel Box for Shelby's wedding. Everything and everyone was so beautiful. I have never been to the Jewel Box before but it is a wonderful place for a wedding. Very tropical looking. Perfect for Shelby, she is a big Jimmy Buffet fan! Her mom walked her down the aisle and she was just all smiles.

Congratulations Shelby & Eric - just look how happy they are!!

Sunday morning

Every Sunday we get to Sunday School early so we can eat a donut before class. This morning Ollie bypassed the donuts and went straight to the bagels. He even liked the cream cheese. I can't believe it! I like bagels and cream cheese too but if the choice is between a bagel or a donut I'm going to go with a donut every time!

After we got home Daddy and Duke pulled in front of the house. They just got back from Goose Hunting. Ollie & Bella were excited to see them!

Little Stinker

This morning Ollie and I took Bella to Petsmart to get a bath. Ollie was running through the store and not being a "good boy". We still had to stop by Target and he was much better in there so we bought some candy corn as a treat. When we got home I was putting up a few new halloween decorations and Ollie said he spilled some candy corn so I told him to pick them up. Daddy came in and saw all the candy on the floor and helped Ollie pick them up and then Ollie took a handful and opened the back door and threw them out onto the patio and said "this is what it looks like when you throw them on purpose!" WHAT??? Where does he get this stuff from?

Six Flags!!!

Today we went to Six Flags with John, Paula, Aunt Erin, Uncle Kevin and Tyler! John's company had their company picnic there today and it turned out to be the perfect day for it! As soon as we got in the gate Ollie saw Bugs Bunny - he really likes all the characters that walk around, he has not been scared of one yet.
The first ride we had to go on was the Scooby Doo ride and guess who we saw when we got off? Scooby Dooby Doo, himself! Holy cow - Ollie was so happy! He gave him a big hug and then posed for the picture. He said "we just saved you from the monsters!" If you haven't rode the Scooby ride in awhile you ride in a boat with a gun and shoot the ghosts and goblins and try to save Shaggy & Scooby. Then we went to ride the Mr. Freeze - don't get so excited, Ollie thinks the Mr. Freeze is the log flume. Last time we went Tyler let it slip that there was a Mr. Freeze ride, of course Ollie is too short for that ride so I told him the log flume was the Mr. Freeze and he remembered it! We also rode the scrambler. Then it was time for the picnic. They had a nice lunch and ice cream and games for the kids to play. Ollie won a small stuffed lizard and a bugs bunny tie. He also got to play on the park.

When we left the picnic area Ollie went with John, Paula, Erin & Kevin and Tyler and I went to ride Evil Knievel (so fun) and Tony Hawk's Big Spin. Ollie and them went into Tiny Toons land and he got to ride all the rides in there. Poor Aunt Erin can't ride anything because of baby Ivy (IF it's a girl!)

When we were leaving I saw a Batman t-shirt in the front of a store that said 50% off. I looked and found a 3T for $5.00! What a deal - I should have known if you want a Batman t-shirt you have to go to 6 Flags. Now I know for future reference! I had to buy the one he was wearing today online and it is a little big but he doesn't care!
What a great day - thanks for inviting us John & Paula!

Guess what came today!!??

Ollie's halloween costume! I was going to put the package away for a little while when it came in, but, Daddy picked Ollie up today and he had opened the box already and knew it was his Batman Costume! So we had to take it out and try it on. The body suit fits pretty well, the mask might need a little help. Ollie doesn't care, check out that grin!

Does it get better than this?

Clean, ready for bed and munching on popcorn while watching Batman and the polar bears in his very own playroom. What a lucky little guy!

Pushing Papa Great

This morning we went to see Papa Great. When we got there Papa was taking him outside to watch the squirrels run around. We had a good visit this morning and then Ollie pushed Papa Great back to his spot. Papa had to hold onto the front to make sure Ollie did not push him into a wall or another person! As you can tell Ollie does not watch where he is going.

After a while we went to Papa's house and Ollie got to ride the mule and help Papa get his truck loaded up to mow some lawns. Then we went to lunch and Ollie fell asleep on the way back to Papa's house so we dropped him off and headed home.

Picnic in the park

For lunch today, we picked up McDonald's and took a blanket to City Centre park and had a picnic! Ollie thought this was really fun. When we got home Becky was on her way to Spencer Creek park with Kathryn and Andrew so we went down there with them. So Ollie had been to 3 parks today before 2:00. Aunt Erin & Uncle Kevin came over to watch Ollie while I went to a birthday party and they took him to a new park in Cottleville - 4 parks in one day - holy cow! This boy can play!

Me, April, Melissa & Becky. It is Melissa's 30th birthday and her sister surprised her with a huge party! All of us worked together at Griffin, none of us work there now, but we are still friends.

Jesus Loves Me

This morning Ollie's choir sang for the church and Ollie actually went out there this time. Last year he would scream and cry when he figured out what was going on and he would not make it into the sanctuary. He did not sing but he did stand in the front row! After Sunday School Ollie got to play in the park outside the church. Check out the video below!

Mail from CA!

Tonight when we got home there was a box on the front porch for Ollie!

Maw Maw & Papa Stu sent the Penquin action figure that goes with his Batcave! There was also M&M's, a magnet & pictures in the box. So far Ollie cared about was the Penguin!

He took him straight up to his playroom to play with his Batcave.

Labor Day Pool Party

Yesterday we went to Barb & Larry's for their Labor Day pool party! It actually turned out to be a perfect day for the pool party. It was not extremely hot but the sun did come out in the afternoon.

Dad & Pati were able to make it too! Yesterday was their 6th anniversary! Ollie got Papa to get in the pool!

Jill & Bel are taking a break from swimming. Although right before the Burke's were leaving Bel was over driving Uncle Larry & Dad crazy and Larry held her upside down for awhile and then put her back down and pushed her right in the pool, clothes and all! It was pretty funny!

Ollie & Vivy played very well together after it was time to get out of the pool. They played on the trampoline and got Uncle Larry to get out the little 4 wheeler for them to ride, although it ran out of juice pretty quick.
I didn't get any pics of Aunt Erin, Uncle Kevin, John, Paula, Daddy or Tyler but they were all there too. Aunt Erin & Uncle Kevin had big news! They are having a baby!!! The new baby is due April 29th! Congratulations you guys!!!

This & That

Earlier this week Ollie was able to recite his address (minus the City & State) and spell his name OLLIE out loud and then he said I want to get some icecream. So off to Fritz we go! Ollie got a fishbait sundae. Which is vanilla icecream, oreo cookies & gummy worms! He only at the gummy worms - good thing I paid extra for the special sundae!

Yesterday was Papa Great's 88th birthday so we woke up and went to see him this morning. Papa Great was all smiles to see Ollie and he was more awake than I have seen him in a long time, but he was still snoozing on us after about 5 minutes so we headed off to Papa's house. We hung out for awhile then went out for mexican. Ollie was all excited when it was time to go because they gave him the check and Papa gave him the money to pay the bill all by himself! Then he used some change to splurge on candy!
The other night I found a superhero website that sold juvenile t-shirts. I ordered a Batmat t-shirt for Ollie & one for me to wear when we go to the Batcave in CA! We got the shirts today. Ollie's is a little big but it will work. Here he is showing off his new shirt with his "mean batman" face!

Of course we had to put the new shirt on right away and had to put it back on after he got out of the shower!

Head Injury

This morning I got a call from Ollie's daycare and they said he went down the slide head first and landed on the top of his head in the rocks. He was bleeding alot and should they take him to the hospital or did I want to come. I said I'll be right there and I was there w/in ten minutes. He wasn't crying anymore and the bleeding looked like it had stopped but there was still blood in his hair. His doctor was not in so we went to the urgent care. We had to wait over an hour but when the dr came in he checked him all out and cleaned up his head. He took some gauze and some kind of cleaner and just scrubbed on the top of his head. Poor Ollie had his eyes squeezed shut and his face was all scrunched up. I was thinking, geeze you could be a little more gentle than that. When it was all cleaned up it was just two little red boo boos on the top of his head, he did not need stitches, thank goodness! I can't believe that much blood came out of these little boo boos. Anyway, Ollie is fine and we took the afternoon off, he will go back to daycare tomorrow. Hopefully, tomorrow will be uneventful!
