Another Sunday with the Grandparents!

Today Grandma & Grandpa Toussaint came over! Ollie was very excited to see them. He started talking to them as soon as they walked in the door! It was a very nice visit. We BBQ'd some lunch and they brought icecream with them! After lunch we sat outside for a little while and it was actually a bit chilly! Crazy weather for August. Next week Grandma & Grandpa will be on their way to New Hampshire and then down to Florida. They should be home by Christmas! Now that they said "see you at Christmas" to Ollie he is starting to make his christmas list. It sounds like Ho Ho will be bringing him an awful lot of stuff! He still has four months to think of other things...yikes!

Meramec Caverns

Here is a cute pic of Ollie sitting in a little box that we got in the mail. He wanted me to make the box bigger.

Today Aunt Erin & Uncle Kevin were watching Maggie & Samantha so we all went to Meramec Caverns. John & Paula came too!
Maggie, Ollie & Samantha waiting for the cave tour to start!

Ollie & Samantha
The tour lasted an hour and a half and the tour guide did not seem to like Ollie. Everytime he would talk to me she would stop talking and wait for him to finish before she would go on with story.

Time for lunch! The kids got their own table - this is the way to eat!

Now it's time to go for a boat ride!

Don't be fooled! The day wasn't perfect. Ollie & Maggie had a wrestling match over a white life preserver in the middle of the boat tour.
The tour guide told us we could throw them over and they would eventually get back to the dock.

John & Paula

Panning for gold.

Time for icecream! Ollie got a "super herio" (super hero) icecream. Maggie & Samantha got cotton candy icecream. Here Ollie is telling them very adamantly that they do NOT have cotton candy they have icecream!

It was a fun day but we did have a few meltdowns.

Sunday with Grandparents

Yesterday we stopped at Bass Pro on the way to Papa's house. Daddy had to look for a few things and there was this huge inflatable set up outside so Ollie and I stayed outside to play.

What a fun surprise!
Then we went to see Papa & Grandma Pati. Ollie rode the mule a couple times and then we all went out to eat. Ollie had pizza - he ordered himself!

Then we went to Maw Maw & Papa Toussaint's house. Maw Maw got out a little "magic" sand box. Ollie had a good time in the sand box.

Aunt Marcie, Daddy & Maw Maw all catching up.

Ollie asks for help. It is hard to get the sand out of those little castles.

Time to color with markers. Yikes I hope he doesn't get used to markers! We only have crayons at home.

Ollie and Kristina. She is going to help make a castle!

Tyler, Ollie & Bailey (Aunt Marcie's dog). Ollie really likes this little dog. Bailey is so fast and likes to be chased!

Park time

Yesterday morning we all walked down to the park. Ollie rode his bike, mommy held his seat so he wouldn't go too fast down the hill & Aunt Erin & Tyler took turns walking Bella.

Ollie likes to go fast down the hills now but it still makes me very nervous.

Aunt Erin was walking Bella until she found a little bird and pinned it down. Then Tyler had to take over.

Thank goodness for Tyler, Bella is a handful when other dogs come around!

Magic at El Maguey

On Thursday nights they have a magician at El Maguey. This is the second time Ollie has seen the magician and he thinks it is really funny!

Even I am impressed by what this guy can do. He pulled that red hanky out of Ollie shirt! He was sitting on my lap so I know he didn't put it in there!

Zucchini Bread

On Monday evening Ollie helped Daddy make Zucchini bread.
Ollie is such a good helper!

Bike Ride to the Park

Tonight Ollie rode his bike all the way (& beyond) to Spencer Creek Park. I had to hold onto his seat while he went down the hill so he wouldn't go too fast and fall. However, when we got to the park he just kept on going..."not this park mommy!".

Last night we rode my bike to City Centre Park which is a lot farther away. He thought he was going to ride his bike all the way there! Yikes! I was running after him in my jeans and sandals trying to reason with him! Silly Mommy when are you going to learn you can't reason with a 3 year old! Finally I caught up to him and turned his bike around. Well that set him off! He started screaming and crying that he wanted to go to the other big park. Finally I just said well now Mommy is going home see you later and I started walking back towards Spencer Creek Park (looking back every few seconds) he finally got on his bike and sat for a few seconds and then he took off towards me and when he flew past me he said "you stay here!" He was really mad at me! He was going so fast I had to run after him again just to try to keep up. When he got back to the park he turned in and decided to play for awhile thank goodness!

After playing for a few minutes he tells me he has to poop. Well of course you do! He got back on his bike and rode to the nearest bathroom on the other side of the bridge. We get out and he wants to go back to the park but it is time to go home so he takes off running. I left the bike by the tennis courts and ran after him. He made it all the way back to the park and I caught up to him and we RAN back to his bike. When we got back to it he didn't want to ride any more he wanted to run. I made him walk the bike back home with me and any time he took his hand off of it I would stop. It took awhile but we finally made it back home.

Mental note, no more going to the park with Ollie on his bike! From now on the bike goes in the car and we drive down there. Geeze I sure got my exercise tonight. I don't know how runs that much. I was exhausted after running after him all night!

Pics of the weekend.

Thursday night Aunt Erin brought Ollie his present from her wedding. It is a pic of Ollie, Uncle Kevin, Aunt Erin & Maggie from the rehearsal dinner and they made it into a puzzle! He is pretty good at getting the puzzle together too!
Ollie chowing down some Cheetos!

We took a trip to the library on Saturday and found a Batman The Birthday Bash book. It is about Joker's birthday! We have read it several times already. I'm going to have to sneak it back to the library when it is time!

Saturday afternoon I went to a bridal shower for my friend Shelby. It was one of the nicest wedding shower's I have ever been too. It was at Mihali's Chophouse in St. Louis. We had a four course meal! It was wonderful. The party was a complete surprise for Shelby - she thought the shower was next weekend. Her maid-of-honer is very tricky!

This is hard to see but it is a pic of Chris, Ollie, Bella & Duke sorting out duck decoys in our backyard. It's getting to be that time of year again!

Mr. Freeze

Yesterday, Aunt Erin and I went to Target to pick up a couple of things. Unfortunately, I could not find what I was looking for but ended up leaving with a Mr. Freeze action figure that goes with Ollie's batcave!

We went to Fritz's afterwards and Ollie want a M&M ice cream but they little stinker wouldn't even take one bite - he was having too much fun with his new Mr. Freeze!

When we got home, after showers, he had to play with his new toy and the batcave! He played the rest of the evening until bedtime!

I be excused?

Last night Ollie and I were finishing up eating dinner, here is our conversation:

Ollie: Mommy, I'm done.
Mommy: Okay
Ollie: I be excused?
Mommy: (shocked look on her face) Yes you may.

Wow, what did the school do with my child? They taught him manners!!

Papa's Birthday!

Thursday was Papa's birthday! So, Papa & Grandma Pati came over and we all went to the concert in the park.

Aunt Erin found some chocolate poker chips and wrapped them up for a present. His real present was the tickets to the baseball game that we went to last weekend.

Ollie & Uncle Kevin enjoying the music. Of course he did not stay seated for long...

Up front there was a lady and her two boys dancing. Ollie came up and asked me to dance but I wasn't sure so he asked Aunt Erin and she went up and danced with him.

When they came back he tried it out on me again. We must have been moving too fast because none of the pics turned out - this was the best one.

Papa & Grandma Pati enjoying the music.

John & Paula.

Thanks to Chris for making a carrot cake last weekend for Dad's birthday - we all had some cake while listening to music! It was a good time!
Happy birthday Dad!!
