Weenie Roast

Saturday evening we went to Grandma Ames' for a weenie roast. We had a great time. Ollie got to swing on the tire swing. Aunt Erin pushed him very high. He said you have to put your feet out so you don't hit the tree! Good to know buddy!

Look how big Cloe is getting!

Cassie & Cloe were taking turns holding Ivy.

Ollie & Daddy play basketball.

Of course Ollie has to climb the pole.

Playing in the climbing tree.

and jumping out of the climbing tree. You would think he would learn. Earlier in the day he jumped down our stairs and his knee hit his chin and he bit a chunk out of the inside of his lip but does that keep him from jumping? NO!

Krista shows Ivy her puppy, Chomper! Ivy likes doggies.

Chris was our roaster. He made hotdogs for me, Ollie, Erin, himself and I think Marcie even got in on it. Then he made smores for us too! How lucky...we just got to sit and relax (with a tired baby) and eat.
Tyler & Kristina just chillin.

Ollie, Cassie & Cloe found some costumes in Grandma Ames' basement. Ollie dressed up like a ninja with a hard hat? He thought it was pretty cool though!

It was Bill's (Lester's brother) 40th birthday. He had a spiderman on his cake as well has a grim reeper and some black balloons. Ollie begged for the spiderman until he finally got to keep it.

It was a great night for a weenie roast. It was not cold at all but also not too hot.

New Playroom!

Well it was time for a change. Ollie's playroom has been transformed. There are no more green walls and no more baby pictures. (sniff, sniff!) He is getting so big.

Now it is a room fit for a "SUPERHERIO"!

Ollie told me that he wanted his room to be red. So I opted to paint one wall red. Last Friday before school Ollie asked me what we were going to do after we got home. I asked what he wanted to do and he said "paint my playroom". So after school/work we went to pick out colors and posters for the walls. Chris and I started painting Friday night and then Saturday morning after I let Bella outside I could not go back to sleep until I gave the room a second coat. So I was up painting the room at 6am while the rest of the house was asleep.

After painting at 6am Ollie and I went in search of the Marvel Superhero wall border. I originally saw it at the Wal-Mart in Wood River but when Pati went back that Friday night it was not there. There was none at two Wal-Marts here, Target, Home Depot or Discount Decorating Outlet so I ended up ordering it online. It arrived Thursday evening. Since I ended up staying home with Ollie on Friday I put the border up while he was watching Ninja Turtles. Then we finished up today with Daddy putting up the very large Batman sticker. The room is finished except for the curtain. We are waiting on a custom (made with love by Maw Maw) Batman curtain to be shipped from Glendora, CA!

Ollie loves his new room. Now it is suited for a big boy. It is crazy how much this room has changed just in the 5 years since we have lived here. Guest room, nursery, baby storage room, toddler playroom, and finally a Superhero playroom!

Another Soccer Game

Ollie had another soccer game today. After being couped up all day yesterday we were ready to get out of the house. He has been on his meds for over 24 hours and his cough is a lot better. When we got there he didn't want to play again. He spent most of the first half sitting on a piece of grass that was painted orange and picked at it.

But after a bit of coaxing he went over and hung out with his teammates that were waiting for their turn to play. He didn't go out and play but he did have a good time with his friends. That is a step in the right direction. There is one more game next week and then we are done!

Croup!

At 2:00am Ollie woke up with a big GASP for air and then started coughing (barking) uncontrollably. I put him in my bathroom and turned on a hot shower. This did not seem to help. He could not stop coughing and was crying. I quickly changed into clothes and threw him in the car and we headed to the ER. By the time we got there the coughing stopped but I could still hear every breath he took. The registration ladies were very nice and could hear him as well. He was admitted and they put him in an adjustable bed. Of course he liked playing with the buttons to move the bed around.

All the nurses doted over him. He was happy to get a popcicle. The Dr came in and I had to tell the story for the 3rd time and he listened to him and checked him all out for the 2nd time and then said he has Croup. He said it is in the early stages and should be taken care of by a breathing treatment and some steroids. Apparently the best thing to do for Croup during a coughing fit is take the child out into the cold air which is why he wasn't coughing when we got to the ER. Man I don't think there is anything more scary than when your child cannot breathe, you feel very helpless.
They gave him some yucky medicine and then they did the breathing treatment. Ollie did very well the whole time. His nurse said he was her best patient of the night. We got home a little after 3:30am. Now I need to get going and call his pediatrician's office to let them know what happened and go fill his prescription.

Fall Pics

So my friend, Becky, was showing me professional pics she got of Kathryn and they were so cute. I decided to steal one of the ideas. We were all hanging out on her driveway tonight and Ollie started bringing me these beautiful leaves from their backyard and that's when I decided to take the same idea but do it myself! It turned out pretty cute too and on the first try! The second one if pretty cute too. Man I have a cute kid! (I'm not biased or anything).
