Mother's Day

We had the perfect Mother's Day this year. We all slept in until about 8:45 and then had breakfast. Chris made waffles, eggs and bacon. Very tasty! After breakfast Ollie and I made a cake. A white confetti cake with white icing and sprinkles on top. Ollie got to lick the spatulas and put the sprinkles on!

We had a BBQ at our house for lunch. Maw Maw, Aunt Erin, Uncle Kevin, Ivy, John & Paula all came over. Here is Ollie getting ready to eat Ivy's baby toes!

I wonder where he gets it from? Now Maw Maw is trying to eat Ollie's toes!

Ollie got me an "O" necklace! He wrapped it and unwrapped it for me. On Saturday when we got home from Papa's house Daddy surprised me with a new cell phone. A fancy one! A red blackberry curve. I am still trying to figure out how to use it.

Maw Maw got a new lap top! She was very excited! We told her it is a Mother's Day and Birthday present - Happy early birthday!

Paula got some new fiesta! So colorful & pretty!
The grandmas took turns holding Ivy while they opened their gifts.
Then we headed to IL for a Toussaint BBQ! Ollie was looking forward to seeing his big cousins but most of them had gone by the time we got there and Uncle Lester was taking cousin Chris out for a drive. Ollie found some other things to do until Uncle Lester came back. He is hitting this cup with some kind of crazy garden tool!
Finally! Uncle Lester is back someone to play with!
What a great weekend! We got to see all of our family and relax and have fun!

Monkey Boy & Megan

This afternoon Ollie and I went over to Papa's to hang out. Megan was there too! Megan, Ollie & Papa went on a Mule ride.

Then they spent time coloring.

Papa found some vines in the yard and Ollie & Megan took turns swinging. Ollie looked like a little monkey boy. There is a video below.



Megan has a little more fear in her than Ollie and I don't blame her I would be scared too!

Ollie says "I'll be Batman and you be Batgirl!"

Harry S Truman Holiday

Thanks to Harry S Truman for being an outstanding Missourian! Today I had the day off for a state holiday but I better enjoy it while I can because there is a bill out there and they want to take away this holiday. So Ollie and I started the day out by picking up some Mickey D's for breakfast and then going to City Centre Park for a breakfast picnic. What a beautiful morning it was!

After we finished eating and Ollie was done playing at the park he wanted to show me the big tree that was cut down. He likes to climb on it.

This tree is a good climbing tree and it has a big hole in it. I wonder what's in there? We had to look. It's just full of sticks and dirt thank goodness.

After that we headed over to Aunt Erin's house. Papa was there stripping the deck. When we got there we had to check and see what baby Ivy was doing. Awe, sleeping!

Can I touch her?

Ollie had on his pirate shirt that Papa brought back from Aruba and when Maw Maw showed up she came with a pirate bandanna for Ollie to wear. Arrgg!

Then Maw Maw stopped by the dollar store and picked up two swords. You can guess what happened next!

Later after dinner, Maw Maw and Ollie found a hidden treasure (a box full of mardi gras beads!) What fun!

Concert in the Park

Thursday evening we went to a concert in the park. This is the first of the monthly summer concerts. They had a Celtic band playing. We sat in the back where we could talk, play and pass Ivy around. Here is Ollie after he stole all the snacks!

Ollie was playing Batman with Uncle Kevin. He would run (in slow motion) up the hill and then pretend the ground was slippery ice and would slide down. Although sometimes he would make it up the hill and start fight Mr. Freeze!

Ollie thinks the snot sucker is a cold air blower!
