Huntington Beach

Wednesday afternoon we headed out to the beach! Ollie loved it - he had such a great time! Here Maw Maw is helping Ollie get water in the bottle so the sand will stick better for the sand castle.

Pat it down!

These birds were scary! They circled us at one time.

But do you think that would stop Maw Maw from eating chips and feeding them to Ollie - heck no! Who cares if we get attacked by crazy beach birds!

Mommy & Ollie getting wet sand.

Great sand castle Ollie!

Ollie, where did your toes go?

After awhile we went to The Longboard for a late lunch. Ollie wanted to eat outside. Then we went back to the beach. This time Ollie wanted the waves to catch him. After the first 5 minutes he fell over and was all wet on one side so it just didn't matter anymore. The water was soooo cold but you got used to it after awhile. He was soaked by the time we left and was shivering. Of course, being the best mommy in the world, I did not pack a towel or anything ( I knew the water would be cold and thought that as soon as it hit his toes he would not go back in - wrong!) So, I stripped him down put his jacket on him and wrapped him in the beach blanket. He thought this was funny because he was nakey and I was carrying him like a baby across the beach back to the car. OMG, I almost forgot this part. While we were sitting in rush hour traffic in LA Ollie has to go potty - so I grab the bottle we were using to collect water at the beach and tried to get him to go in the bottle. Unfortunately, this was not a good idea - I had pee all over me & him - Great idea Mommy! I was just full of good ideas on Wednesday!

The Batcave!

Tuesday morning, the girls went to get pedicures and Ollie went to work with Papa Stu to learn to drive a forklift! The office ladies knew we were going to the batcave later so they helped Ollie make a batman hat and Papa Stu got a robin hat! They were pretty hiliarious! Ollie loves the hats, thanks ladies!
Yes, we all have Batman shirts on...we would only do this for Ollie. Here we are in the real batcave. This is a man made cave used to film the Batman TV show years ago. The cool part for the grown ups was that they were actually filming an episode of Private Practice. It is a public park so they had to let us check out the batcave but they ask that when they yell "rolling" that we be extremely quiet - okay, that's going to work with a 3 year old!

Ollie was investigating he said that the bat mobile crashed here!

Check this out, on the other side of the batcave you can see the Hollywood sign - pretty cool, huh?

Time to leave, we have to hike back down this hill. Going down is definitely better than going up. Poor Maw Maw is still not very fast, but she was determined to make it to the batcave with Ollie!

Going to California!

Monday morning we woke up and went straight to the airport to fly to California! Ollie was so excited to take his Batman backpack with him. It weighs about as much as he does. It has his portable dvd player, a few movies, some batman toys and an airplane pillow. I didn't make him carry it all on his own, just when he wanted to have it on.

Ollie is amusing himself while waiting for our plane to get here!

When we finally got to Maw Maw & Papa Stu's house Ollie had his very own Batman room! Complete with a new joker toy! Pretty cool!

Maw Maw also made a new halloween bag with bats on it and there were sand toys in there for when we go to the beach.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the Daniel's pumpkin patch today and had lots of fun.

Ollie, Aunt Erin and the Scarecrow. Ollie does not like scarecrows.

The maze was "dark & creepy". I think someone watches too much Scooby Doo.

We got to see Roosters....
Piggies...

Cows and Sheep!

Ollie also got to schuck corn all by himself!

You are supposed to sit on the swing Ollie!

He had two pony rides!

He went down the slides several times.

Ollie & Uncle Kevin as scary monsters!

Horse tire swings.

Ollie & Mommy in our halloween shirts.

Time for the pony express. Ollie held the pony's neck the whole time.

Daddy helps with the tractor tykes but they don't steer very well.

Instead of sand boxes they have corn boxes! Pretty fun. Where's Ollie's body?

Ollie had a jack-o-lantern painted on his face!

Under all the corn!

After the pumpkin patch we went to Fritz'. Ollie got a fish bait sundae with gummy worms!

What a fun day...great start to our vacation. Ollie, Aunt Erin and I are leaving for CA tomorrow mornin to see Maw Maw & Papa Stu! We will be home on Friday night. I probably won't be able to post anything until next Saturday but should have some good pics for you!

Garage Sale Day!!

This morning we got up and left the house at 6am. Aunt Erin and I dropped Ollie off at Papa's house and then headed to O'Fallon, IL for the HUGE garage sale. It is 100 homes in one subdivision and it is just crazy. I was a little bummed because I only found one pair of jeans for Ollie that he can wear this year. But I found 3 pair for next year! it was a lot of walking and my feet are still hurting. We got back to my dad's around 11:00 and hung out for awhile then we all went to lunch and stopped by to see Papa Great. Ollie fell asleep on the way home but woke up when Daddy got home this afternoon! It was a good day but I didn't take any pics, sorry! Stay tuned tomorrow we are planning on going to the pumpkin patch!
