Happy 1st Birthday Nick & Maya!!

Yesterday was Nick and Maya Mugge's 1st birthday!
They were not quite sure what to do when everyone was singing to them!
They sure liked the cake though!

So did Ollie!!
Ollie could not understand why there was a birthday party and he did not get to open presents! So, when they opened the presents from him he got to help them!
Ollie loves balloons! He was still a little too short to reach this one though!

After the party we went back to Grandma Toussaint's house to pick up Tyler and Cousin Chris. We gave Ollie a bath and put on his jammies. He had a great time playing in Grandma's bath tub!

He also likes Grandma's doggy and he wants to put the leash on her and walk her in a bad way. Unfortunately, Sally does not want anything to do with Ollie so he walked and Marcie and cousin Christina around with the leash instead!

I did not take any pictures today but it was still a busy day. We got up early and went to garage sales then we came home and Ollie rode his truck for a while, then lunch and nap time. After Ollie's nap Daddy was home from work so Ollie got to stay home and play with Daddy for 3 hours while Mommy and Tyler went school shopping. Tyler got a bunch of new clothes and school supplies! I think he is pretty happy with all of his new things! When we got back from the store Ollie and I went outside to play in the sand with little Pete. Ollie and Little Pete play real well together! Then it was time to take a bath and go night night!

Thursday Evening!

This evening we went out back to play on the ride ride truck and then we found Katherine, Becky, Nate and Jenny. They stayed to play at the park with us for a little while but then it started to rain so we all went into Becky and Katherine's house to play. When it was time for them to eat dinner Ollie and I came home and took a shower and got our jammies on. Then Ollie wanted to paint in his Manny book. Here is a video of Ollie painting.

After painting Ollie says "My tummy s wet Mommy!" I said "Well I wonder how your tummy got wet!" I'm sure it had nothing to do with him dumping the water out of the bowl and all over the table! Anyway, Ollie proceeded to take off his jammies and throw them down the laundry shoot. Then he went to his room to pick out the jammies he wanted to wear. When I got up there he had picked out his Elmo jammies. They are for winter time and I tried to explain that he would be hot and that he does not like his feet to be confined in his jammies but there was no reasoning with him so on went the hot Elmo jammies. We will see if he will actually sleep in them all night.

Oh...he looks like a baby in those feet jammies!!!

1 training class down 3 to go!

Today I had my first training class for the state. I had to go to Jeff City for a class from 8-5, which means that I had to meet a colleague at work at 6:00am and then did not get home until 7:00pm. I have another training class next Thursday but that one is in STL thank goodness. Then I have 2 one week long classes one at the end of September then I am home for a week then I have another week long class in October. After that I think I will be finished! I am very nervous about leaving Ollie for a week at a time - it was bad enough not getting to see him until 7pm today! It has to be done sometime right?

Hey, all you bloggers - check out the Blog train at http://kelseysmith.typepad.com/blog_train/

Daddy's home!

This morning we went over to Papa's house to see Papa, Grandma Pati and Great-Papa!
Ollie had a good time flipping Great-Papa and Grandma Pati's chairs back so their feet would fly up! He thought that was pretty funny! Papa and Bill were working on the apartments across the street. We all went out to lunch and then it was time for Ollie and I to go home to see Daddy! Ollie was sleeping when we got home so Chris had to wait until he woke up at 3:00 to see him.

Ollie wanted to try out his new rollerblades. This is a pic of him standing still - he can do that pretty well but if he tries to move his feet go opposite ways. After this we went out back and rode Ollie's truck for a little while then came in to cool off and have dinner. At 7:00 we went back out to ride his truck - we were just going to stay out for 15 min but after we rode down the bike trail and started back up to the house little Pete was at Kappel's house and came out to see Ollie's truck. Ollie actually shared his truck with little Pete - I was very impressed. They played very well together for a good hour. Ollie even rode in the back of his truck and Pete drove him around. They were very funny to watch! Finally the battery in the truck started to die so it was time to come home. When we got inside it was 8:20! So much for getting Ollie to bed by 8:30!

Back to Reality!

Well, yesterday was my first day at my new job. It was just a lot of paperwork, I still have no clue exactly what I will be doing. I am working for intake in the child support division. So far it seems that I will meet with walk-ins to take their applications and enter new applications into the system. I found out that between now and October I will have to go to Jeff City for 2 weeks (a week at a time) for training...yikes! I have never been away from Ollie for more than one night - what am I going to do??? I'm sure it will be fine, besides both my mom and dad have expressed that they would like to keep Ollie for a week next summer so it was bound to happen sooner or later! I will write more on the new job when I know more about what I will be doing so stay tuned!

Chris left to go fishing last night and will not be back until Sunday afternoon so it is just me & Ollie this weekend. This morning we got up and went to garage sales with Maw Maw. I found this "My First Lap Top" for .25 and it just needed batteries. What a deal! Ollie loves it - he says "my puter!" Look at him just working away!

Ollie also got a pair of soccer shoes, spiderman slippers and roller blades from the garage sales - we hit the jackpot!!! They are all size 10 (he is only an 8 or 8 1/2 right now but they should fit him next year and since he cannot be in soccer until he is 3 that is perfect timing!

After garage sales we played at Maw Maw's house for awhile then went to Ponderosa for lunch. Kids 3 and under are free and Ollie ate alot! He had a hodge podge of food. It was perfect for him then he got ice cream for dessert! Then it was time to go home for a nap - Ollie was so tired he was beside himself. He through the biggest fit and I still do not even know what was wrong. There is a video of the first part of his temper tantrum below. After he finally came out the bathroom he shut himself in my room and then when he came out of there he was poopy so I had to change his diaper while he was screaming, kicking and carrying on - what a nightmare. After the diaper change I tried to hold him to calm him down. I asked if he wanted to sit with mommy and he said yes. But, he did not want to sit on his bed, my bed or the couch the only word he knew was no! So I decided to suck it up and lay with him in his bed. He continued to scream and cry and pick, pinch and hit I have some bruises on my arm to prove it. Finally he fell asleep sniffling. Poor buddy, I don't know what got into him!
Ollie woke up much happier and we went to the Mall with Maw Maw and Ollie got to play in the play area for quite a long time. When we left it was time for dinner and then a quick stop to Wal-Mart where we got these new jammies for Ollie the shirt says "I Love Monsters, Mud and Mess!" and Ollie said "oh cute" when we got in the car. Ollie also got lots of Hot Wheels cars with his birthday money - thanks Aunt Teresa & Uncle Lester!!!

Here is the video of the first part of Ollie's fit. It is kind of dark but he slithers down the hall and shuts himself in the bathroom! Silly boy!
